Instructions

                        
    
                            
  • Connect with a USB-A to USB-C cable
    • 
                            
  • Turn the BlockBoy on
    • 
                            
  • Click "Connect device" and pick the port in the popup
    • 
                            
  • Your device is detected automatically
    • 
                            
  • Confirm, then wait ~1-2 minutes
    • 
                            
  • Flashing a second time? Unplug the cable and plug it back in first, then connect straight away
    • 
                            
  • After this, your BlockBoy updates itself from the menu, no cable needed

Important

                        
The firmware is overwritten. ROMs and saves on the microSD card are not affected.

                        
USB-C to USB-C cables are not supported. Use a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Only needed for testing or troubleshooting. A normal install does not need this.

                    

                        
                        
                    

                    
Recovery skips the confirm step and re-flashes a stuck or restarting device the moment it is caught, so you do not need to be quick. It uses the firmware selected above and still verifies the hardware first.


                    

                        
                        
                    

                    
Flash your own .img file. The device is still detected, and a file larger than the chip is refused so it can't brick the device.
